Soft Molasses Cookies
These soft molasses cookies (My grandma's specialty) are packed with flavor that bring a smile to every bite. My son loves these cookies!
Ingredients
- 1 cup dark brown sugar
- 1 cup butter softened
- 1/4 cup Dark Molasses
- 1 large egg
- 1 Teas vanilla extract
- 2 1/2 cups flour all purpose
- 2 teas baking soda
- 1 teas ground ginger
- 1 teas ground cinnamon
- 1 teas nutmeg
- 1/2 teas salt
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar to roll cookie dough in
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
- Place parchment paper on a large baking sheet and set aside. If you don't have parchment paper, spray the baking sheet with cooking spray.
- In a large bowl, beat together the brown sugar, butter, molasses, egg, and vanilla extract with a mixer until well combined.
- Mix together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, and salt and add to ingredients above.
- Shape the dough into 1 to 1 1/2 inch balls.
- Roll the balls in granulated sugar
- Place cookie dough balls 2 inches apart on the baking sheet.
- Bake for 10 to 15 minutes until set.
- Remove cookies and place on a wire rack to cool.
