Spicy Mashed Sweet Potatoes
Just when you didn't think sweet potatoes could be better - this recipe come along. The tasty blend of spices incorporated add a special touch.
Ingredients
- 4 large sweet potatoes
- 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoons cumin
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Pierce sweet potato several times with a fork.
- Place on the oven rack and roast 45 minutes to 1 hour (until soft)
- Transfer to a cutting board and let stand for about 10 minutes (until cool enough to work with)
- Remove skins and cut the into 1-inch pieces.
- Place in a large bowl.
- Add butter.
- Smash the sweet potatoes with a potato masher until fluffy (some lumps will remain).
- Add maple syrup and remaining ingredients.
- Stir to combine.
