Crispy Garbanzo Bean Tacos

Nice twist taco recipe. The lime/sour cream really adds a nice touch.

  • Cook: 20 mins
  • Yields: 6 to 8 servings


2 (15 oz.) can chickpeas, drained and rinsed

4 tablespoons olive oil

2 teaspoon ground cumin

2 teaspoon chili powder

1 teaspoon kosher salt

1 teaspoon black pepper

2 avocados

Flauta size flour tortillas or corn tortillas

Top with:

Bag of mixed coleslaw

1/2 red onion, sliced thin


1/2 cup queso fresco

Sour Cream Sauce:

1/2 cup sour cream

1/2 lime, juice only

Pinch of salt and pepper


1For the chickpeas, rinse them well and then toss them with the olive oil and spices.

2Add them to a skillet over medium heat and cook them until they get browned and crispy on the edges.

3Spoon in some crispy chickpeas, scoop some slaw on top, and drizzle the whole thing with sour cream sauce and fresh avocado.
